PIELTER Computer NetworkLogon: Logon using your own username and password. If you do not have an account yet, or are just a temporary user, use the username and password taped to the monitor. To get an account, you must ask someone with administrator privileges (currently: Joe, Chuck, Hap). Email: For MBL employees with accounts on dryas, use the web interface: http://ecosystems.mbl.edu/exchange. It is possible to use Outlook directly, but this might require some setup. Others are on their own. Directory Share: Please store any of your own files in \\pie\userdirectories. You can find this directory under the network neighborhood. You can create your own subdirectories under this directory. Since PIE is always on, you will always be able to access your files regardless of the machine you log onto. Miscellaneous info.: The server (PIE) can be used for general computing needs; however, please avoid installing unnecessary software on this machine, as we want to make this machine as stable as possible. Always leave the server (PIE) running, but the monitor can be turned off. Log off before turning monitor off. Printing can be done from the PIELTER ROWLEY E-Machine using the Epson 640 printer which is hardwired to ROWLEY E-Machine.. Note, computers PARKER and ROWLEY are faster machines than this server (PIE). This page was last modified on: |
